And are unquestionably the vintage tubes sought after and treasured most by audio professionals and enthusiasts. Like any other Telefunken tubes, these ECC82's are very pleasant to listen to: liquid, euphonic, with a slightly warmer midrange than many other German tubes, which makes your sound experience smooth and non-fatiguing, and all that happens on a unbelievably realistic holographic sound stage, where everything feels bigger, wider and taller. Sound texture can be felt through infinite levels of details, laying on top of each other, both in depth and in width. So your quest for superb sound clarity can end right here. Lastly, it never gets old to say that no other brand is even close to these when it comes to low noise - Telefunken tubes are "extremely" quiet just as legend has it. Beside the fantastic sound signature, we treasure this pair also because the great condition of inscriptions on the tubes.
The Telefunken logo is visible on both tubes and one of them has nearly perfect paint and of course the Berlin date codes on the side: B 220 1 825 (B = Berlin, 1 = 1961) and B 500 1 925 (B = Berlin, 1 = 1961). Professional testing & sound evaluation. Both tubes tested Strong NOS (110%+ nominal mutual conductance) on a Mercury 2000 tube tester with the following result mutual conductance in. Tube 1: 3,200/3,200.
Tube 2: 3,180/3,300. Good tubes start at 2000 and new tubes incl. NOS/NIB 3,000 - 3,100, and the Mercury 2000's rated mutual conductance (nominal) for new tubes is 3,000. Test result can also be seen in the pictures. In case you wonder what all these numbers mean to your sound experience, it's actually quite straightforward: mutual conductance directly translates to a tube's ability to amplify sound , so the higher these numbers the stronger.
No short, leakage or gas. The pair worked wonderfully & sounded terrific in our test amp (Woo Audio WA7e Fireflies) during professional sound evaluation. Soundlumia sets extremely high quality standard for the products we deliver. Sound experience is a very subjective thing, and let's be real it's not that easy to run into compatibility issues between amps and tubes so that one won't fly, either. Secondly, if you are a tube roller looking to game the return system, Number One STOP.
